    Dorf Media

    The Challenge

With declining circulation and lost advertising revenue, it is critical to maintain quality local sports coverage in print and leverage it on the web. Dorf Media, a professional news organization providing high school and community sports coverage across the US, was looking at a solution that could enable them to overcome such challenges and emerge with a competitive advantage in this digital revolution.

    Solution

Based on client requirements, Icreon developed an end-to-end Sports Gathering - CMS package using LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) that offers editorial processing and publishing support for sports coverage. Developed on the SAAS model, the purpose of the CMS is to make the event-reporting experience quick, logical and easy for high school coaches / athletic directors.

The robust CMS platform facilitates comprehensive data collection, verification and analysis, quality writing and seamless publishing of results for both print and web. It covers editorial & technical aspects of game stats, reporting, rosters; tournaments and its schedules; scoreboards, statistical aggregation; user compliance analytics; reverse publishing capability; etc.

To enable Dorf Media and its clients to easily manage and track the activities of local sports, various modules have been developed, based on their specific roles, viz, Administrator, School and Publisher.

    Result

The uniqueness of the Sports Gathering - CMS lies in it having an intuitive user-friendly interface; being Web 3.0 compatible, and providing sports data and news editorial services in real time.

Through the solution, Icreon enabled DorfMedia to help newspapers and web sites capitalize on the change and growth in local sports coverage.
